When you first see the pictures of 9 Rewa Place you can't help but imagine it as a kind of paradise; well, you'll be right. Not only does it offer easy access to the beautiful Bay of Islands, nearby are two beaches (one with a boat ramp), seaside walks, an exciting mini-hike up to Tapeka Point and the pretty town of Russell is just a few minutes up and over the historic Flagstaff Hill.

The house itself is spacious, with wonderful all-round decks, secluded barbecue area and a sea view to Moturoa Island, Kent Passage and the Kerikeri Inlet . There are three bedrooms with a master tucked away from it all on the top floor with its own ensuite bathroom. There is another bathroom downstairs and the lounge and study area look up to a cathedral-like white wooden ceiling. There's a wood-burning stove for those chillier evenings and the kitchen-dining area is neat, spacious and well organised - a place where great holiday meals can be made and shared freely and easily. On the ground floor, there's a big double garage (complete with workbench) with ample hardstanding for a boat alongside it. All this is in a garden setting at the end of a drive and out of sight from the road. The house has no neighbours on two sides and backs on to an extensive area of native manuka bush - the noisiest neighbours are the local populations of kiwi, weka and tui.

This retreat from the world offers a wonderful blend of peace, quiet and relaxed living alongside opportunities for safe swimming (complete with pontoon), runs and walks, boating, kayaking, diving and fishing...
