A step back in time, back to the gold mining days or even further when Whales inhabited this land, when you first set foot on this extraordinary property steeped in history, your eyes deceive you in thinking you are in the gold rush, while the urge to look for fossils among the limestone may lead to finding a 25 million year old sharks tooth!
Set amongst the Limestone cliffs of Tokarahi and not far from the Valley of the Whales, Elephant rocks, Dansys pass and the Moari rock drawings this area off the Vanished World Trail attracts many adventurist, Fossil Hunters and cyclist from the A2O.
Fully insulated the recently built huts are made to look authentic with up-cycled materials and decorated with treasures from the past. The main attraction though is the 1870's limestone Chaff house and stables converted into a dining hall and wash house.
