Mike has a wealth of knowledge and experience, having worked in the property industry for over 35 years.This experience is not limited to Property sales, he also offers an extensive background in property development.This experience started in 1983 when he began Project Managed a large coastal development named Matarangi Beach Estates, on the Coromandel Peninsula.  Mike's role included overseeing the construction and selling down the development (1200 sections during his tenure), he also developed the Golf Links, infrastructure, Commercial centre and community facilities.  In 1997 Mike worked as Project Manager for Whitianga Waterways part of the Hopper Developments family. Whitianga Waterways is a 1000-acre, comprehensive housing development which incorporates canal front housing as its main feature.  Mike's responsibilities involved public consultation on the project. During this phase he was heavily involved with Iwi, Government Departments and Local Territorial Authorities. In short, we worked hard progressing this project even passing under urgency Government Legislation allowing the project to proceed. Mike sold down the first 350 sections within the development, also relocating the State Highway, dredged 1500 metres of harbour and solved several major infrastructural matters affecting the community.On leaving Whitianga Waterways Mike worked as a Residential Sales Strategist out of Whitianga. This was during the late 2000's GFC, yet in those four years Mike concluded over $35mil in sales including a beach front for $3.6mil.Now residing in Hawkes Bay Mike has spent time working as a Sales Manager in the industry and in early 2017 teamed up with his daughter Emerald selling in the Napier property market. Over the last 12 months The Harper's concluded over $8.5 million dollars' in sales, obtaining some incredible prices for their vendors.During Mike's career he has worked in several property markets and understands the best method of sale for each property from pricing property, tenders, PBN to Auction programs - The Harper's have developed a strong reputation in helping clients throughout the sales process with our vendors needs always front of mind.Mike loves working in a small team environment and firmly believes in Black and White Real Estate.
