Hamish’s passion for property began back in 1992 when he worked for John Britten, an entrepreneurial great in property as well as motorcycling. Hamish has a marketing background and experience which is hard to match in the industry. He holds a Bachelor of Business Management with double majors in Marketing and Communication, plus 8 other qualifications in business, marketing, management, HR, tourism and sales. He has held various senior corporate roles including area sales manager and then the national marketing role for Hertz NZ and marketing manager for the Rick Armstrong Motor Group. Hamish also created the Tourism Managed Investment Property Division for another national real estate brand. Hamish’s results speak for themselves. As a sales consultant, in the residential areas he has specialised in, he has achieved better results for his clients than any other agent! His expert marketing ability and strong negotiating skills backed up by a strong statistical focus make him an asset for sellers. He considers it his personal mission to get the very best price for his sellers and takes great pride in having been offered listings from buyers to sell their home after he got them to pay thousands of dollars more for his listings. Hamish has been a specialist in residential subdivisions since early 2004 when he developed a marketing campaign and sold down the 225 section/40 apartment Styx Mill Country Club subdivision in Christchurch. Since then Hamish has worked with many developers on projects both in New Zealand and overseas, including a planned $300m development in the Pacific Islands. His most recent project has been marketing and selling the exclusive Riverside Reserve subdivision in Hussey Road, Christchurch which has been sold down in record time. Hamish founded Venterra, a specialist subdivision, section and new home marketing brand, in response to a need from developers and buyers for a consultative sales approach and marketing assistance in new subdivisions. He believes his formative years selling travel, an intangible product, has given him an edge in selling property off the plan. Venterra is proud to partner the Ray White Group. Born and bred in Canterbury, Hamish and prides himself on his wide personal and professional network. In his spare time he enjoys varied sporting pursuits. When time allows can sometimes be found on the ski slopes in winter and in summer, riding around the hills on his racing bicycle or Italian motorbikes.
