Growing up in Central Hawke’s Bay on family farms in Tikokino and Argyll East, James started his career in advertising, working as a creative and marketing strategist for global agencies in Wellington, Auckland and Melbourne.The natural pull of home and the craving for the outdoors brought James back to Hawke’s Bay in 2010 to embark on a career as a horse trainer. Focusing on buying and selling thoroughbreds into Australia, Singapore and Hong Kong markets, James' skills in negotiation and closing deals came to the fore. James also trained a number of horses for clients, they always enjoyed consistent communication and had regular visits to the winners circle.In 2016 the opportunity to pursue his life-long dream of farming came through the purchase of a 382ha coastal sheep and beef trading block at Pourerere Beach. James’ practical farming knowledge allows him to accurately point out the strengths, scope and potential of all land types to his clients.His knowledge of Central Hawke’s Bay coupled with a focus on building lasting relationships with people holds James in great stead to help you realise the true worth of your rural investment.
