Willem brings nearly 30 years’ experience working in both the rural and SME sectors to the Bayleys Commercial and Industrial team. Originally from Gisborne, he and wife Sheryl spent 10 years in Tauranga investing in residential property and owning a retail training business. The purchase of tourist backpacker bar “Holy Cow” followed before making the move to Cambridge which they have called home for 13 years along with their children Margaret & Johannes.
Having been on both sides of the negotiation table as a landlord and a tenant, Willem has years of first-hand experience of Commercial and Industrial real estate at the coal face. Through hard work, reputation and an empathy for hardworking business owners, he has built an enviable network of professional contacts in the Waikato during his 13 years in the region. Before joining Bayleys, he spent 8 very successful years as the leading salesperson for Waikato and South Auckland with bulk fuel company northfuels.co.nz, clients were typically transport companies, earthmoving contractors and large-scale farming businesses.
Willem has been involved with youth mentoring since 2012 through Waikato Youth Empowerment Trust and Graeme Dingle Foundation.
Away from work you will find him either stalking trout with his fly rod or trying to fill his freezer with venison or wild pork.

We found Willem a breath of fresh air in selling our properties. He was very focussed, meticulous with detail, prompt and very reliable with all aspects of the process.
Willem was in constant contact during the campaign and kept us up to date with every piece of information, promptly and effectively. Although our auctions were badly affected by
Covid 19 lockdowns, we still achieved a good result by the teams efforts to minimise the problems.

Willem was very professional and informative, and we respected his guidance and manner in selling our property. A real delightful person to deal with and a credit to him for making the call to ask if we were interested in selling. Willem was in touch with us frequently, keeping us informed with potential leads and enquiries on our property – his involvement & salesmanship were second to none

Willem was always so courteous in addressing both my daughter and me in every discussion we had, and always made sure that we understood before continuing. Never having attended an Auction before, we were not sure of what we were meant to do, but again, we were welcomed and made comfortable, and constantly informed of discussions.

To whom it may concern,
We chose Bayleys with their beautiful marketing that we felt stood out amongst the rest. They also had a strong presence of success within the community. We chose agents - Catherine Hayward and Willem Brown together, with their friendliness and knowledge and professionalism - they were both able to present the facts and didn’t fail to disappoint throughout the whole listing, marketing and sales process of our property. They took what generally is a stressful time - and were able to make us feel at ease and their level of communication was outstanding. I highly recommended them both for the whole process as they won’t disappoint and should we go through the process again, they will be our first agents we would call.

I found Willem and Catherine both very warm and professional when dealing with Bayleys for my purchase. I really appreciated Willem's energy, his knowledge of the area, and the regular follow up/follow through over the weeks in regards to two properties. Bayleys ran an outstanding auction that I was proud to be a part of. Hannah Myers, Cambridge, N.Z.

I found Willem knowledgeable about the region & he regularly sent us information about other properties for sale & his listings & selling success, I found him professional in his approach & he was easy to communicate with. What impressed me was his consideration for my tenant & how the sale impacted on their business. The marketing of the property was directed to potential buyers & Bayleys knowledge & contacts were an advantage. The auction day was well advertised & was well attended. Willem gave me updates about the interested parties & the results were beyond my expectations. I would recommend Willem as an agent & would be happy to use him again. From a very satisfied client.

I was happy with the way the marketing and selling the property was done, Willem showed professionalism in every step. Auction day was a nervous time, as it always is for both sides, but the support was excellent. Willem had very good communication right through the exercise. Very happy with the outcome and will use Bayleys again.

I have known Willem for a number of years now, probably 6 or more, I have always got on with Willem, from the first time we met on a plane back from Christchurch.
We have had a common interest in business and the outdoors. I have enjoyed our chats over the years about each other’s respective businesses that we have been involved in.
Willem is a hard-working, down to earth, good bloke with an engaging easy manner.
