John is a born and bred Marlburian. He spent 15 years in the building trade before starting his real estate career in 1976, before starting the Harcourt’s franchise in 1989 (second N.Z. franchise owner). John has always been involved with the commercial market and projects, which are his specialty. He has been heavily involved in volunteer work throughout his career and his goal is in building a better place for the people of Marlborough. He knows the local market place extremely well which is ideal for when people are seeking advice about the province and the local economy. John has been involved in investment in forestry, viticulture, commercial, subdivisions and residential homes.A happy friendly elder statesman now, John is still loving the challenge of the new generation of people the business brings together. He know shares his knowledge with the local team through training of new staff with continuing education. John’s sons Mark and Aaron bought the business in 2007 and continued to maintain high ethics, along with pride and performance which has lifted the bar again and continued the success of this very proud family business of some 30 years.
